Letterforms, when properly executed, are things of beauty. They are visual music; they have a rhythm, a melody and a volume. Typography sets the mood. It makes promises with the viewer and communicates. It has been said that “Typography is the backbone of Graphic Design”. I would take that one step further and say, “Making type is the backbone of Typography.”
